My Top 10 Christmas Films

As I have a month off from Dance School, I have a LOT of time on my hands! Therefore, yesterday I thought it was only fitting with it being December, to have a Christmas movie day. I thought that I would put together a list of my favourite Christmas films to watch! These are in no particular order as that would be waaaaayyy too hard!!

1. Elf

Elf has to be my all-time favourite Christmas film; it tells the story of Buddy the Elf who travels to New York to search for his real father after discovering he was accidentally transported to the North Pole as a baby. My friends and I have been able to quote most of the film for years and I always go straight for this film when I'm in a Christmassy mood! It really can't be beaten and is probably (similarly to me) top of most peoples list!

2. The Grinch

I have loved this film ever since I was little; it is about the green Grinch who decides to ruin christmas for the people of Whoville, who love christmas. It isn't Christmas without watching this film, Jim Carrey is hilarious as the Grinch!

3. Home Alone

Each year during the Christmas season, I love watching all of the Home Alone movies. They tell the story of Kevin McCallister who is left home alone when his family accidentally leaves for Paris without him; he has to save the house from robbers. I love how clever this little boy is with saving his house and so it rightfully makes my list at #3.

4. Polar Express

As a child, my family and I would have a tradition of watching this film before we went to bed on Christmas Eve. The animation is amazing in this film and I used to always want to go on the Polar Express itself to visit the North Pole!

5. Nativity

This film, as well as the other two are hilarious! They follow the students of St. Bernadette's Primary School and their new teaching assistant Mr Poppy. It feels like their adventures really could have happened; the three films are really worth a watch.

6. The Santa Clause

Another childhood favourite of mine are the Santa Clause films; I really like all three films, but my favourite has to be the original. The first is about a father named Scott Calvin who accidentally kills Santa and has to take over the job! I love the way the North Pole is portrayed in this film, and the elves.

7. The Holiday

This is another popular Christmas film; it has so many famous actors in it (such as Cameron Diaz and Jack Black). It is about two women who swap homes during Christmas following bad breakups. It's not christmas without watching this film for me!

8. Arthur Christmas

A relatively new Christmas film, but it has to be in my list of top 10 favourites! Arthur Christmas is about Santa and his family who miss out giving one child their Christmas present and his youngest son must save the day and deliver the present. I really like the idea of the role of Santa being passed down through the family and how high-tech his operation is in this film.

9. Love Actually

Love Actually is another beloved Christmas film! It is a romantic comedy that portrays nine different stories that are all intertwined and are all about love. I do really love this film and it's definitely a Christmas favourite!

10. Miracle on 34th Street

This Christmas film is a classic and tells the story of a man who claims to be the real Kris Kringle and  tries to prove himself before the court. I used to watch this non-stop every year as a child and so it brings back a lot of Christmas memories for me.

Let me know what your favourite Christmas film is in the comments below! Thanks for reading,
