Another Trip to the Ballet

Yesterday, as I had bought my mum tickets for Christmas to see The Nutcracker at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, we headed to London for the day. I thought I'd share with you what we did during our trip.

We began our day quite early as we wanted to get there with a reasonable amount of time to have a mooch around the shops; I even got a chance to do a bit of sale shopping! Firstly we popped in to one of my favourite shops, Miss Selfridge and then we headed into New Look. Luckily (as I get anxious around sales) the petite section of New Look was completely empty and it even included a few rails of sale items! This was perfect for me as I managed to find a few bits I liked in the sale (which is rare for me), and of course I couldn't resist buying them!

New Look Purchases - Grey Jumper Dress (unfortunately not in the sale), Burgundy Spotty Shirt and Grey Patterned Skirt
I was so happy with my purchases as I don't usually buy that many clothes in sales. with my purse slightly lighter we headed to the Royal Opera House to see the ballet.

This trip was my first time being inside the Royal Opera House (apart from visiting the Royal Ballet shop a couple of years ago) and it was absolutely beautiful inside; it took my breath away at first! The ballet itself was incredible, the costumes were fabulously intricate and the dancing was perfect and so breathtaking to watch. Unfortunately, being a student, I couldn't afford expensive seats so we were right at the top, in what is called the Upper Slips of the Amphitheatre! It was a shame because I could only see half the stage; we know for next time that I should save my pennies more to get a better view.

How picturesque is the Royal Opera House!
We decided after the Ballet that we still wanted to do a little bit more shopping so we headed into the centre of Covent Garden. On the way there I spotted The Young Dancer sculpture that was sculpted by Enzo Plazzotta; I've been meaning to visit this sculpture for years and I'm so glad that I finally got to see it!

When I was in Covent Garden I saw that Accessorize had a sale for 50% off, so I popped in to see if I could pick up any bargains. I managed to come away with three necklaces for about £11 which I was really happy with! We then had a meal at Wagamama which I've never been to before, but have always wanted to tried. I had the Chicken Katsu Curry which was so so nice.

Then we had a walk around Covent Garden so I managed to finally see (and take photos) of the Christmas decorations in Covent Garden then we headed home but managed to visit St Pancras to see the Disney tree on the way home.

I've been incredibly lucky to see two ballets this Christmas and its definitely inspired me for when I go back to Dance School in January. I had a lovely day in London, managing to pick up a few bargains along the way. Have you got anything in the sales? Thanks for reading,

Let's keep in touch
